14-15 December, Tirana – The 10th SEETO Road Safety Working Group meeting was held in Tirana on 14-15 December 2017, with the presence of respective representatives from the Regional Participants’ Ministries of Transport, Ministries of Infrastructure, Ministries of Interior, Road Authorities, different public enterprises from transport sector, World Bank, SAFEGE, Connecta etc..
Being the hosts of the meeting, representatives of Albania opened the meeting by presenting their experience regarding Road Safety Management in Albania. They described the Best Practice examples, highlighting the completed process of certification for RSI/RSA.
The RSWG reviewed the results of Connectivity Reform Measure Management Plan, discussed ongoing activities, with reference to the progress made in the preparation of the three-year RSI plan for the core and comprehensive network and pilot RSIs on the high accident sections.
Regarding Connectivity Reform Measure Management Plan, participants discussed future activities, among which establishing a national system for continuous road crash data collection is of great significance.
At the meeting, deliverables of the RSWG in 2017 were noted, paying special attention to progress and impact of the road safety measures.
