Podgorica – SEETO and ERA (European Railway Agency) organized a two day joint meeting in Montenegro. The first day was dedicated to ERA seminar, which started by the presentation of the Montenegrin Railways Directorate who presented the current status in the railway cross border traffic and the recent developments in the railway sector of Montenegro. Meeting continued with the presentation of ERA experts on the following topics: the activities of the European Railway Agency; An overview of the EU railway regulatory framework; the nature, legal base and scope of the existing Technical Specifications for Interoperability (TSIs); Authorization for placing into service.
18th RWWG meeting was held on the second day. Meeting was opened by the director of the Montenegrin Railways Directorate, Mr. Nebojsa Obradovic and followed with the presentations from ERA experts on Entity in charge of maintenance, Safety authority and Accident investigation. Additionally presentations were made by SEETO RWWG Chairman, Mr. Jost from the European Commission, who informed about the institutional and legislative aspects of establishing rail institutions, and by Mr. Bajatovic on the topic of ZPCG institutional strengthening programme in Montenegro.
Meeting attended Representatives from the railway administration of the hosting country and the IPA Project beneficiaries, SEETO representatives, ERA’s representatives and partners. Meeting was hosted by the Montenegrin Railways Directorate.
