On May 10th, the ECOROADS project partners organized the final conference where the results of the two-year project were presented. The conference started with a presentation by Mr. Adewole Adesiyun, Project Manager from FEHRIL, who introduced the audience to ECOROADS and the journey so far. The meeting continued with a presentation by a representative of DG MOVE, Mr. Attila Eordogh, about EU safety priorities. In the presence of DG MOVE and road research European stakeholders, the results of the tunnel inspections, as well as the final deliverable – ‘Recommendations and Guidelines’, were presented at the conference. These will serve as a useful tool for road safety auditors and tunnel safety inspectors as well as infrastructure managers and road safety experts.
SEETO had an important role in producing the core deliverables in the project and participated with three out five test site tunnel visits. SEETO Regional Participants also showed their interest in attending the conference in Brussels. All the documents and the deliverables are available on the ECOROADS Project website: www.ecoroadsproject.eu
