Working Group No 4:TEN-T and Connections outside EU

BRUSSELS - A first meeting of EC - managed Working Group No 4 TEN-T and connections outside EU was held in Brussels, on 18th December 2009.
Within the framework of the review of the Trans-European Transport network policy, which was initiated with the publication of a Green Paper and is expected to lead to an EC proposal for revisited TEN-T Guidelines towards the end of 2010, the Commission created six expert groups. The working groups are composed of several experts representing academic sector, transport infrastructure managers, specific stakeholders, specialized European Agencies, national governments and European institutions. The Working Group No 4 TEN-T and connections outside EU is chaired by Mr. Costa former chairman of the TRAN committee in the European Parliament. The main task of the working group is defining those links to the neighboring countries to be included into/connected to future TEN-T Core Network.
The SEETO Chairwoman Katarina Cop-Bajde, Steering Committee member Francois Begeot and Transport Planning Manager Nenad Nikolic are invited to participate in WP 4 work. On the Friday’s meeting Mr. Nikolic presented methodology for defining the SEE Core Regional Transport Network and state of the art in regional transport cooperation, emphasizing the Principles and Criteria for Core Network establishment and Institutional Framework for Core Network development.
TEN-T revision principles and methodology was presented by EC representatives as well as current cooperation in MEDA and Northern dimension.
