BELGRADE – Eleventh Meeting of Pan-European Corridor X Steering Committee and Eighth Meeting of the Working Group for the improvement of border crossings along Corridor X was held in Belgrade on 21-22 January 2010.
On the January 21st, 2010, a seminar for the performance of time measurements at border stations along the Pan-European Corridor X took place. Identification of the obstacles impeding smooth border crossings and the proposition of soft measures for the facilitation of passing traffic were main issues on border crossing WG meeting. During the meeting, SEETO Transport Planning Manager Mr. Nikolic presented findings of RWR/RSA project which was developed under the SEETO cooperation umbrella. Presentation was related to railway part of the RWR/RSA Project with special focus on railway border crossings. The Steering Committee Meeting on January 22nd was honored by the presence of the Minister of Infrastructure of the Republic of Serbia Mr. Milutin Mrkonjić, which presented Serbian plans for further development of Corridor X. Afterwards Participants presented their country reports, and the Technical Secretariat of the Steering Committee reported about Corridor X overall development. Mr. Miltiadou from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki informed Participants about the SEETAC project aims and state of the art, as well as and the future developments and anticipated results.
